Let us take the unknown number as x.

x + -5/8 = -3/2

x = -3/2 + 5/8 (LCM: 8)

x = -12/8 + 5/8

x = -7/8

Hope it helps :)

let the no. be x
-5/8+x=-3/2
x=-3/2-(-5/8)
x=-3/2+5/8
=-12+5/8
-7/8
x=-7/8
Hope this will help you
