Answer:

Given :-

  • A number is subtracted from 5 to get 18/13.

To Find :-

  • The number which is going to be subtracted.

Solution :-

Let that number be x.

Therefore, According to the question,

  • 5 - x = 18/13
  • x = 5 - 18/13 [Taking L.C.M.]
  • x = {5 × 13 - 18}/ 13
  • x = {65 - 18}/13
  • x = 47/13

Answer :-

  • The number which is going to be subtracted ( x ) is 47/13.

47/13

Let the number which is going to

subtract be "x"

SO,

5-x=18/13

x= 18/13 - 5

here here is no denominator of 5 so we will keep it as 5/1

SO,

x=18/13 - 5/1

L.C.M of 13 & 1 = 13

Now , 5*13=65 & 1*13=13

so,

x=18/13-65/13

x=18-65/13

x=47/13

Hope ,

this will help you
