Answer: Solar Eclipse

At a certain time, when moon, earth and sun are in a single row and moon is between sun and earth, moon blocks the view of certain area of sun whose lights fall on earth scarecly. This phenomenon is known as a solar eclipse.

The diameter of our sun is approximately four hundred times the diameter of moon. This is why whenever solar eclipse appears, it usually appears in a limited area. As a result, the light of sin gets dimmer and dimmer as the moon covers the whole area of sun in that region. When the moon covers the whole area at any particular place, that is known as a complete solar eclipse.

Whereas tides occur due to tidal phenomenon of winds during spring season. Lunar eclipse is when the sun moon and earth are in a same line and sun covers whole or partial surface of the moon and prohibits the light of the moon from reaching to earth.
