The poem Vachana written by Basavanna was written at a time when only Brahmin/high caste people could only enter the temples. By building a temple for him (God) the poet wants to satisfy God, but is a poor man. He is eager to see if he will ever satisfy God. Using body for the shrine, his legs for pillars,  and head for a cupola of gold, he wants to treat his own body like a temple. He satisfies himself by saying that' things one day will collapse,' that is, buildings would one get destroyed  by wind, rain and sunlight. By being the temple, the poet is glad that' the moving shall ever stay' implying that the he would be able to carry  forever the' temple' and his' God '  with him. This would always stay.

Explanation:

  • The phrase moving shall ever stay can  be translated in several ways. The' moving'–that is, the human heart, which is a' moving temple'-can not be destroyed by the wrath of nature, unlike a temple, which is easily damaged by nature, but also the' moving' –may speak of humble beings, who are swayed by God's devotion and move in accordance with the will of God. which, unlike the' static,' stand up against the wishes of God and are destroyed. These two sentences echo the message of the Bible line, "“Be not like the mighty oak which can be filled, with a single stroke; Be like the humble reed which bends with the wind and stays”.
  • The poet comforts himself that the temple, which he will never be able to build, would be destroyed one day, and that the "moving temple" in his heart is eternal and intact. The lines may also mean that the person who stands before God without bowing to him will definitely be' falling' or being destroyed; while the one who' moves '  that is,  bows down in his presence and behaves according to his wish, will still remain forever. Through his humble circumstances and devotion/faith to God the poet finds consolation.
