Step-by-step explanation:

GIVEN :-

 \sf \: 2 {x}^{2}  - 3x + 5 = 0

TO FIND :-

 \sf \: Discriminant \:  of \:  the \:  equation

SOLUTION :-

 \sf \: If \:  a  \: quadratic \:  equation \:  is  \\  \sf \:  \: a {x}^{2}    + bx + c \:  \: then

 \sf \: Formula  \: of  \: Discriminant \\  \sf \:  D=   {b}^{2} - 4ac

 \sf \: here \:  \:  \: a = 2 \:  \:  \:  \:  \: b \:  =  - 3 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: c = 5

 \sf \: then \:  \: Discriminant  \\  \sf ( D)=  {b}^{2} - 4ac   \\   \sf=  ( - 3) {}^{2}  - 4(2)(5) \\  = 9 - 40 \\  \sf =  - 31

 \green{ \boxed{ \sf  \: Discriminant  \sf \:  D=    - 31}}
