  ad \:  =  \: \sqrt{{9}^{2} +  {12}^{2}  }  \\  =  \sqrt{81 + 144 }  \\  =  \sqrt{125}  \\  =  \sqrt{15}

2) Since, CD = 8cm

Therefore, AB = 8cm

Now,

bd \:  =  \:   \sqrt{ {6}^{2}  +  {8}^{2} }  \\  =  \sqrt{36 + 64}  \\  =  \sqrt{100}  \\  = 10cm
