There were number of  extraordinary things which happened at the Inn.

When Mr and Mrs Hall,the landlord found the scientist`s door open, they became curious and entered the room. They did not find the scientist present in the room but saw the clothes and bandages which he wore were lying in the room.

Mrs Hall suddenly felt that she heard a sniff near her ear. The very next moment she saw the hat lying on the bedpost rose and hit her face. This was followed by the bedroom chair which became alive and came straight at her. The chair threw them out of the room and slammed and locked the room.

Mrs Hall had almost fallen down the stairs in terror and was pretty sure that the room was under the spell of spirits , which probably had a strong connection with the scientist.
