The earth may seem like a solid spherical structure but its made up of "different layers". The interior structure of earth is made up of three different layers called "crust, mantle, and core". The crust us the outermost, a thinnest and hard layer made up of cooled and solidified rocks.

The mantle is intermediate or the middle layer. The outer part of mantle called the upper mantle is solid part of mantle but lower part of mantle called the lower mantle is semi-liquid in structure. The core us innermost layer of earth which is made up of "molten rocks", these molten material is also called magma.

The uppermost layer of earth, that is the crust and upper part of mantle, that is upper mantle together form the solid, hard layer is called as lithosphere on which every activity on "surface of earth" takes place.
