Answer:

A great man is he who has many outstanding qualities in him. Ordinary people have ordinary qualities; but extraordinary people have heart winning qualities. Qualities such as kindness, generosity, sympathy, etc. are admired by all.

Poem Legend of the Northland teaches us the importance of imbibing humane qualities. In the poem, the old woman did not show kindness to St. Peter who was hungry and faint. Her selfishness infuriated the divine saint and he converted her to a woodpecker.

If the old woman had shown kindness and given a cake to St. Peter, he surely would have blessed her and multiplied her joys.

In order to lead a great life, we must develop these qualities in us and purify ourselves of all the negative qualities.
