Let volume of flask be = 1L
Applying charles law :-
where v1 = 1L, T1 = 300k, T2 = 500k
So, v2 = 500/300 = 1.66L
( gas has expanded )
Volume of gas escaped ( 1.66 - 100 ) = 0.66L
Hence, percentage of gas escaped =
That is 40 % approx.

What is Charles Law in simple terms?
- Charles's law, a statement that the volume occupied by a fixed amount of gas is directly proportional to its absolute temperature, if the pressure remains constant.
What is Charles Law also known as?
- Charles's law (also known as the law of volumes) is an experimental gas law that describes how gases tend to expand when heated.
