An aquous solution of Na2CO3 is alkaline in nature. Therefore, its pH must always be above 7. Na2CO3 is a salt of a weak acid (carbonic acid) and a strong base, NaOH. A strong solution of Na2CO3 may have a pH value of around 10, if not more.
