The policies of british towords bastar were;-
1.-They want to restrict the practice of shifting cultivation or sweden culture because in this practice they use slash and burn which causes fire to other feilds and forest.
2.-The british were worried that the local pepole can cut trees reckleesly felling of trees would destroy forest. that's why they invited a german expert Dietrich Brandis. According to Brandis the felling of trees and grazing were restricted to preserve forest for timber production.
3.-Brandis wanted to grow same trees in a straight line this procees was known as plantation. The trees they wanted to grow were;-timber, sak etc. This procees was failed because of decreasing in variety of trees.
4.-In 1865 forest act was passed, it was amended twice once in 1878 and then in 1927.In 1878 the act was divide into three categories;- reserved forest, protected forest and village forest.
