Answer:

Colonization brought about many changes which were brought about for the British government's administrative ease and their misplaced belief that they were here to shoulder the "white man's burden". These changes are:

1) Growth of modern indistry and capitalist in the 20th century despite the exploitative nature of colonial rule.

2) Birth of the middle class: The growth of the western educated middle class which actively participated in political decisions related to it.

3) Development of communication and transport administration: In order to make administration of India easier and transport raw materials from the internal regions and finished products from Britain into the interior regions railway, highway, waterway and postal infrastructure was developed. This brought the people of India closer and ideas could be spread easily.

4) Social changes: Banning of sati, child marriage and legalization of widow remarriage. They also made attempts to end caste discrimination.

5) Western Education: The exposure to western ideas of freedom and equality from the French revolution, American War for Independence and Socialist movement.
