What precautions are required to be taken while laundering woollens?
Answers
1) Treat small stains by rinsing them with cold water and then blotting them dry with a clean cloth. If the garment is labeled “hand wash,” clean it using your washer’s hand wash or wool cycle with cool water.
2) To remove excess water after washing, gently roll the garment in a towel.
3) Dry cleaning once a season is usually sufficient to keep wool garments in good shape.
Hope it helps :)
"Most woollen clothes and blankets require hand washing, but one should be sure to check label for permanent care to see if the item is 'dry only' type.
Use a woollen washing fluid which is mild.
Do not be too hard in the wash to prevent distortion of the shape of wool clothes.
Rinse significant times in cool, tight water to ensure that the detergent is removed completely before the drying process.
For drying woollen clothes, gently press it to remove water quantities before laying and drying completely.
Woollen clothes should have a good shape due to the natural elasticity of the fibers.
Do not use a tumble dryer and avoid direct heat."
