(ii) Bulb should be surrounded from all sides by the substance of which the temperature is to be measured.

(iii) The bulb should not touch the surface of the container.

  2. Read the number where the end point of the mercury column rests to note the temperature.For Example,the thermometre shown alongside reads 37.4°C.
