what price should a shopkeeper mark on a article which costs him rupees 880 so as to gain 25% after allowing a discount of 12%

Given:

cost price=880

Gain=25%

Discount=12%

We have to find Marked price

First we find selling price of an article

Selling Price=CP*(100+gain%)/100

=880*125/100

=1100

Now we know that

Marked price= SP*(100+Discount%)/100

=1100*112/100

=1232

Hence marked price = 1232
