here,

cost price=880

if he gets 25% profit,

selling price

=880+25% of 880

=880+(0.25×880)

=880+220

=1100

[this is the amount he gets in final phase in any ways]

at 12% discount,

actual selling price

=1100+12% of 1100

=1100+(0.12×1100)

=1100+132

=1232

[this is the amount he gave on the article which was later deduced by 12% to a profit of 25%]

so he should keep the value 1232
