let the principal be X

si = (X × 6 × 11)100 = 66x/100

amount = X + 66x/100 = 166x/100

according to the question, 166x/100 = 3735

X = (3735×100)166 = Rs 2250

Answer:

Given :-

  • A amount of Rs 3735 in 6 years at the rate of 11% simple interest per annum.

Find Out :-

  • Principal (P) ?

Formula Required :-

\large{\red{\bold{\underline{SI =\: \dfrac{P \times R \times T}{100}}}}}

Solution :-

Let, the principal be x

Given in the question :-

  • Amount = Rs 3735
  • R = 11%
  • T = 6

By substituting the formula we get,

=> SI = \dfrac{x \times 11 \times 6}{100}

=> SI = \dfrac{66x}{100}

Now, we know that,

✓ Principal + SI = Amount

Then,

=> x + \dfrac{66x}{100} = 3735

=> \dfrac{166x}{100} = 3735

=> 166x = 373500

=> x = \dfrac{373500}{166}

=> x = Rs 2250

\therefore The principal is Rs 2250.
