The absence of reflex actions in our nervous system would have grave consequences for the human body.
- A reflex action is a sudden and involuntary response to stimuli. It happens very suddenly in response to something detected by the human body.
- The nervous system is the part of our body that controls and coordinates all its functions.
- It includes the nerves, brain, spinal cord, etc.
- Reflex actions are a necessity for the survival of any being.
- They save us from sudden threats, like when our hands touch something very hot. Reflex actions make it possible for us to retreat our hands before any damage could be done.
- Reflex actions are controlled by the Spinal cord.
- They don't need us to think about them i.e they happen involuntarily. We don't have time to think about these decisions.
- Thus, the absence of these actions would be very dangerous for us and could cause us great harm, like burning of our hands when we touch a hot object.
