what product more severe burns boiling water or steam

Here's your answer;
Steam will produce more severe burns as compared to boiling water as we know that steam has more heat energy than water(due to latent heat vaporisation).They both can exist at varying temperatures,but it is much correct to assume them both on same temperature.

Steam produces more severe burns. This is because steam has high specific latent heat of vaporisation. Specific latent heat of vaporisation is the amount of heat required to change one gram of water at 100°C to one gram of steam at 100°C. For steam it is
2260J/g or 540 cal/g.
