When NON-OXIDISING ACIDS (HCl and dilute H2SO4) react with active metals like Na, Mg, Al, Zn, Fe etc., the products are hydrogen gas and the soluble salt of the metal. 3. OXIDISING ACIDS (HNO3 and Conc.H2SO4) generally do not produce H2 on reaction with metals.
