As it is used in clocks period of oscillations depend only on its length and strength of local gravity. So when you don’t move your clocks it depend s only on length of pendulum.
Making pendulum of constant length is not as easy as it seems but is a lot of easier than make other types of oscillators which were available at time pendulums were used.
Today pendulum is not used for very precise clocks because even most precise clocks of pendulum era are not suitable for measurements.

Answer: Pendulum swings in to and for motion in a precise time interval dependent on its length, and resists swinging at other rates. Therefore clock makers use it due to its accuracy rate.
