what purpose are served by using ball bearing in machines? explain with example​

Ball bearings induce rolling friction.Rolling friction is lesser than Sliding Friction hence in order to reduce the loss of momentum in the system, ball bearing are used.

Examples of Usage of Rolling Friction also includes :

a > A bike with a thin tire will burn less fuel because of the decreased rolling friction.
