In the story "The Midnight visitor",Ausable cleverly took care of Max,who had a pistol and had come to get hold of some important documents.Ausable had planned how to handle Max,on his way to the room.He had asked the hotel management to send a wine to his room.Ausable fabricated the story of the so-called balcony infront of Max,showing him his frustration.When the door was knocked by the waiter,Max was threatened that the police had come,and he tried to jump over the so called balcony which never existed and thus met his end.

In the 'The Midnight Visitor ' auseble make a fake story he had tell to the management to give a wine in my room when the watter knock the door then max got frusted because he kenw that police has come and when police will see him he will get shooted bt the police. So he jump from the balcony that he do not knew that there is a no other balcony and he fell form sixth floor high building.
