poles represent the point of origin of magnetic fields. The magnetic fields force is strongest at the poles.

The poles serve as the origin of the magnetic field. They are the anchor points for any magnetic field. There are two types of poles, The North pole and the south pole. The pole shoe helps the magnetic filed to be supported by the influx and reduces the resistance faced by the electric current between the two poles so that it requires less voltage and mmf.
