Amphoteric oxides:--Oxides of metals which have both acidic as well as basic behavior are known as atmospheric oxides. 

eg- aluminum oxide and zinc oxide

Metal oxides which are usually basic in nature but some metal oxides such as Aluminium oxide and zinc oxide react with both acids as well as bases to produce salt and water.
Hence,they are called Amphoteric oxides.
For example. Reaction of aluminium oxide with acid and Base. (shown in the pic)
