➡️Sulfuric acid (H2SO4) reacts very vigorously with water, in a highly exothermic reaction. If you add water to concentrated sulfuric acid, it can boil and spit and you may get a nasty acid burn.

The reaction is called a neutralisation reaction.

  • Sodium carbonate is an example of a base, whereas sulfuric acid is an example of an acid. As a result of the interaction between the base and acid, which is referred to as a neutralisation reaction, salt is produced in the process, along with the release of carbon dioxide and water.
  • As sodium carbonate has the anion carbonate in it, decarboxylation also takes place in the reaction among the acids and bases, which results in the formation of an appropriate salt as well as the release of water. As a conclusion, sodium carbonate and sulfuric acid react to form sodium sulphate. Water and carbon dioxide are the other byproducts.

The reaction is given as,

H_{2} SO_{4} +Na_{2} CO_{3} ---> Na_{2} SO_{4} +H_{2} O+CO_{2}

Hence, the reaction is called a neutralisation reaction.
