What reason , according to you, could have prompted to indians to recognise bhadhur shah zafar as their leader?

Because he was the last Mughal ruler, and there were no central powers left except mughals. Indians had accepted him as their emperor and and his court was setup in Delhi.

Answer: I think it is because he was the last emperor of mughal dynasty and mughal dynasty is very powerful as it lasted many years. And fighters did not discriminate anyone else, they thought all are equal.
