Salim or Jahangir son of Akbar falls in love with Anarkali and she too loves him. Bur Akbar was against their love. He didn't want them to get married because Akbar knows Jahangir is a big womaniser. After they get married he would surely ruin her life. And her father was the most obedient and respected man in Akbar court. So Akbar didnt wanted to see his daughter Anarkali to get ruined throughout her life in the hands of Jahangir.
