Brutus justified assassinating Caesar as a result of Caesar's ambition. He believed that Romans would live as slaves under Caesar's rule. He justified his act by saying that he did not love Caesar less but he loved Rome more and he was willing to sacrifice his life for the good of the country whenever required.
