The main recommendation i can make with regards to human rights violations on governments and communities is the creation of strong institutions. There needs to be independent Courts and Commissions that deal with specific issues like corruption and gender issues. The environment should allow for a free press which can work without any hindrance or political interference. The citizens themselves should enjoy freedom of expression and association. The citizens themselves also need to be well informed on all important issues and very active. In other words an activist citizenry should be cultivated and encouraged. The net effect of these measures is the promotion of the key elements that drive a democratic discourse and these are transparency, free participation, peace, stability and inclusive development.
