Ladies and gentlemen, dear friends and colleagues,

From the very beginning of our species we understood that there has to be law and order. But what not all of us understand is that maintaining order cannot compromise our freedom and liberty. That’s how autocracy and totalitarianism were born. 75 years ago, the United Nations were created to put an and to violations of human rights, to maintain law and order, life and liberty of all Peoples. Sadly, it has failed. In this very moment, numerous governments and private citizens alike are violating human rights. But what is even more alarming is that they are abandoning their conscience, respect for life and liberty of others. They abandoned the sacred principles of love and happiness for all, black and white, poor and rich alike. In their stead, they adopted another set of tenets- where my life is more important than yours and where your happiness matter less that mine. That is the nature of human rights violations. But it can stop, I’ll say even more, It has to and it will. We have to believe in this, for there is no prosperous and peaceful future with those who do not respect life and liberty of others. I call upon you. I call upon you all to, through any means necessary and to the very best of your ability stop those who do not respect our sacred values and principles. Go forth, my friends, try and succeed in assuring peace and prosperity for all.

Conclusions on poor service delivery of department of education (in India):

1. Teachers do not perform their duty honestly

2. The supervision of the delivery of quality education in government schools is not effective.

3. Access to good education provided in private institutions is not equal for the backward communities.

4. RTE has shortcomings in its implementation. Instances of discrimination against students registered under RTE in private schools are observed.

Recommendations

1. Educational reforms must begin from government schools themselves since the poor have easier access to them.

2. Teaching staff should be properly supervised and quality education must be imparted. Resources meant for schools must reach the students for their welfare.

3. Government must devise a mechanism to ensure RTE is delivering its promises.
