The atomic number equals the charge on the nucleus. It therefore also equals the number of protons in the nucleus and also equals numerically the number of electrons in the neutral atom.

Answer:

The atomic number is equal to the the number of protons and number of protons is equsl to number of electrons in an atom.So we can say that if we know atomic number of any element we can find out the number of protons, electrons and number of shells of that element.
