• Well, yes it is the mass which remains constant.
• Generally, whenever a ball is thrown upward then for sure it would be not thrown with a velocity in comparison with the velocity of light.
• Therefore, the change in the mass of the ball will be negligible and can be take constant.
• In case if the ball is thrown with the velocity which is in comparison with the velocity of the light (3* 10^8 m/s^2) then the mass cannot be taken constant.
