the colonial government began imposing various restrictions on their mobility are :-

Massai and other pastoral groups were also forced to live within the confinesof special reserves.

they were not allowed to move out with their stock without special permits.

those who found guilty of disobeying the rules were severely punished.

pastoralists were not allowed to enter the market in white areas. they were prohibited from participating in any form of trade.
