Also the Liberal Revolution of 1848, was also led by middle class elites only. The foundation of unification of Germany, was led by the middle class only in the form of Frankfurt Parliament. Unification of Italy was also led by middle class only.

If we talk about it in the context of India, then we see that middle class have effectively participated in the nationalist movement that came about in the Indian history.
