in small intestine :

villi is present in the inner walls of the small intestine.
it plays a vital role in digestion.
it is finger like projections that help to absorb the digested food and supply them to the other parts for energy.

swathika23: villi have large surface area .it expands using muscular contractions .when the food eaten is simplified using the digestion process, the food must be transported to all the parts.so villi is present in the inner walls of the small intesting where the food is digested finally .the villi absorbs it and helps in transporting it to all the parts for energy.
