what role does oxygen present in the air play in the formation of soil

The air found in the soil is very different from the air found in th atmosphere . this air is used by the creatures living on the soil . the air is not exposed to moving aif current and is much more moist than atmospheric air

most of the bacteria present in soil need oxygen to survive if they will die soil formation is difficult though soil formed by breaking of rocks but it is made fertile by these bacteria
