Friction is a force that slows down a motion and prevents slipping.

It helps in following ways:

1. It helps us to walk properly on the ground. It prevents our slipping. The areas covered with ice have little friction,so we often slip on the ice.

2. It helps us to write. we cannot hold a pencil when there is no friction.

3. It also helps the vehicles to move on the road. Without friction our  vehicles would run continuously and slip down

Friction plays a crucial role in the lives of humans and animals. We are able to walk, run and move on the floor due to friction. If there was no friction, humans or animals would not have able to walk. ... It helps humans to hold things and have a grip on it.

Basically, in things like car engines, the wheels of your skates, and the chain of your bike, friction is a force that slows you down
