What is the roles of society to solve problem?

~The role of society is crucial and probably the most important, since problems that affect society as a whole tend to be the most difficult but also most impactful problems there are like crime, unemployment, healthcare and climate change.

Many people look at their government for solving these kinds of problems, but in my opinion that’s both lazy and ignorant. Lazy because you want others to fix problems that affect you and that you are able to affect (however small that may seem). And ignorant because this shows that people forget how government is part of society and serving society to solve it’s own problems. It’s a whole, not two separated things.

Besides the fundamental argument, a more interesting aspect to your question is that problems that affect a society as a whole are often very complex. And the best way to approach these problems is through some form of collective creativity. We shouldn’t bank on the lonely genius who’ll find a cure for cancer or a way to capture CO2. The best answers are found when groups of people of all names and shapes come together to think about the problems they’re experiencing. So the role of society in my opinion is to be open to other people’s views, to actively participate in shaping the society you live in and to contribute to finding answers to the problems that you see.
