Louis XVI increased the taxes on daily requirements of the people which resulted in revolt.

The increase in tax was for the royal treasury which was empty when he became the king.

he also increased the cost of the food and bread which people ate.

he introduced new titles for the people of his country.

he discriminated on the levels of people and the class which they belonged to.

all these reasons created hatred among people and this resulted in revolt
