I have another drama on my roster: Money Game. I watched the first two episodes in one sitting and it feels like an extended movie with its pacey narrative and moody cinematography. The tvN drama started off on a sinister note, with Lee Sung Min giving a masterful performance as the ambitious, twisted newly-mintedu Heon’s colleagues and Heo Jae find out only upon Professor Chae’s death. While Yi Heon comes off as a little unhinged and recklessly honest, I like how the writer is already drawing a parallel between him and his father in fundamental values and beliefs even though they had their differences when the elder man was alive.
Yi Heon isn’t one who is easily fazed or would stand down easily, so it would be exciting to see him go up against Heo Jae. I know Shim Eun Kyung is a credible actress but I’ve never found her watchable. She always plays strong-headed characters and she does it again here as Lee Hye Joon, an officer at the International Finance Bureau. She’ll join forces with Yi Heon to take their corrupted and power-hungry superiors and colleagues to task.
