Elements are unadulterated substances that are made out of just a single kind of molecule whereas compounds are substances that are shaped by at least two distinct kinds of elements that are joined synthetically to fixed extents.

  • Elements are classified as either metals, non-metals or metalloids whereas compounds are classified according to their bonds which can be ionic, molecular or metallic.
  • Elements can be recognized by their atomic number whereas compounds are recognized by their decent proportion of various elements  (organized in a characterized way).
