The process by which plants prepare their food is known as photosynthesis. I n this process plants use sunlight to synthesize nutrients from carbon dioxide and water. Photosynthesis in plants generally involves the green pigment chlorophyll and generates oxygen as a by-product.

Photosynthesis is a process in which plant convert sunlight & heat energy into food (glucose C6H12O6) with the help of water which it gets through its roots because plants are autotrophic i.e. they prepared there own food .
