Precipitation reaction is a reaction in which an element is transformed to a insoluble salt ( precipitate ) .

In simple words " Any reaction that produces a precipitate can be considered as a precipitation reaction " .

Eg :-

i) AgNO3+ KCl—–AgCl+ KNO3

ii) 2KOH+ CaCl2—-Ca(OH)2+ 2KCl
