➡ What's Raksha Bandhan ?

Well Raksha Bandhan is a festival which is mainly celebrated in India and Nepal.

Mainly celebrated by the Hindus and is known by many names such as rakhi, saluno, silono and rakri.

It is celebrated on Poornima (full moon day) of shravan month.

The only festival when a sister ties a bracelet or simply a thread to get a promise of forever love and being protected and secure.

That promise is just to make her sister secure that whatever the situation it would be, the love and care would be for lifetime.

➡ Who are brothers ?

Brothers are the only one after a girl's dad who would love her with his whole heart. As said there are only three men in a girl's life. They are father, brother and the one whom she loves.

Second one i.e., brother is the only one who would do anything to make her sister feel secure and happy. He is the only one who will act like a best friend and guide his sister, love him like a father and will annoy to the fullest like no one else could do.

Bhai, as said in India it's the third or fourth most easy word which a kid learns. Brother is the one with whom a sister takes her step ahead. The one who sometimes sacrifices his wishes to see her sister getting all those things which she wants or crave for.

Defining a truly blessed relationship i.e., having a brother is the best thing one could have in their life.

➡ A self written poetry :p

Brother you ..............

Brother you are life

Your blessings are rife.

Your presence makes heaven

While absence makes abandon.

Brother you are cure to pain

The one who keeps me in rein.

You are affable

Your love is adorable.

Brother you give happiness

But I hate that edginess.

Sometimes it's my fault

Yet your rudeness is salt.

Brother with you I'm secure

You are totally obscure.

You give me console

Sometimes you scold.

Brother in my life, you are god

Without you I'm tod.

Because of you I'm conceit

At last you make my life complete.

Dedicated to all my brainly brothers. :)

Hey Bro !!

Thanks for the question.

Raksha Bandhan is a Hindu festival celebrated in India. As, on the day of Raksha Bandhan sister ties a sacred thread to her brothers. The brothers promise that they will provide protection to their sister. This festival is celebrated on Shravan month according to Hindu calendar on full moon day.

Why Raksha Bandhan is celebrated ?

There are many stories which describe why we celebrate Raksha Bandhan. One of the famous story was, in 350 B.C.E ( approx.) Wife of Alexander the great sent a sacred thread to Porus, emperor of India during that period asking a promise that not to harm Alexander who is coming for war. Porus as per the promise he leaves Alexander. Here we can understand Porus was treated as a brother by the wife of Alexander.

In my view Raksha Bandhan is not only tying the thread but also showing an immense love towards the brothers. Rakhi, the sacred thread is not only tied to the brothers but also the loved ones too.

Importance of Sister in my life :

Well, I have an elder sister. I always fight with her for the remote of television as she likes serials. We sometimes fight very seriously I beat her and she beats me. But one thing to remember is that is not my enemy to fight but my friend, mother and a daughter too. Iam nothing without my sister. She supports me, encourages me, helps me. Actually, she is my second mother in terms of love.

Thanks again for the wonderful question.
