Combination reactions are those reactions in which two substances are combined to form a new substance. In above examples, both the reactions are same but show opposite directions, so decomposition reaction is called the opposite of combination reaction.

it is because in combination reaction two or more products combine or reacts with each other to form one single product...
while in decomposition reaction one substance break into two or more products.that is why they are opposite to each orher...
decomposition reactions are endothermic in natute...
and most of the combination reactions are exothermic in nature...
