Step-by-step explanation:

Dear student,

Discount is the amount reduced on the Marked price to sell an item.

Formula to find Discount

Discount = Marked Price– Selling Price

Example

For example, M.P ( Marked Price ) of an article = 100

Selling Price= 80

Discount = 100 - 80 = 20

Rate of Discount

Now, Rate of Discount is the percentage of Discount given on the marked price of an article

Formula to find Discount Rate

Discount % = Discount/ Marked Price × 100

For example

M.P = 100

Discount = 20

Discount Rate = Discount/ Marked Price × 100

= 20/100×100=20%

Hope you understood...

Thanks
