Infared rays
- IR is a type of electromagnetic radiation, a continuum of frequencies produced when atoms absorb and then release energy. From highest to lowest frequency.
- It includes gammarays, X-rays, ultraviolet radiation, visible light, infrared radiation, microwaves and radio waves.
- So basically we can't feel heat when X-rays are passed through our body as compared to the infrared rays because these emit their energy deeper in the body, under the heatsensitive cells of the skin.
