The wood produced by angiosperms is called porous wood.
It is composed of many vessels, and also called hard wood.
While on the other hand wood produced by gymnosperms is called non porous wood.
It is the wood without pores or vessels and is called soft wood.
In porous wood there are plenty of Xylem fibres and no or less tracheids, whereas non porous wood has fewer Xylem fibres and about 90-95% tracheids.
